Session details

Smile design has esthetic and functional considerations. Esthetic dentistry has to take into account the function of the stomatognathic system.
Some of the topics addressed:
Did Occlusion cause the present esthetic problem?
Does present Occlusion interfere with the desired esthetic result?
Do the esthetic changes interfere with the function?

The answers help us create protocols to ensure the longevity of our esthetic restorations, taking function into account. Analog and digital workflow are presented and compared. The participants can implement the concepts immediately in practice.

About speaker:

Michael Radu

Dr. Michael Radu graduated in his native Romania, Dental School of Bucharest, in 1979 - Summa Cum Laude and valedictorian. He completed a three year general dentistry residency, at the same school. He received his Masters of Science degree from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, in 2000. He practiced for six years in Düsseldorf, Germany and since 1989 in Boca Raton, Florida. He has a diverse practicing and teaching experience covering more than three decades and three countries.  His passion for the science of dentistry translated into several articles and one patent that Dr. Radu authored.

Dr. Radu has a passion for dentistry and for teaching it to others. He believes dentistry is more of a science that can be taught, rather than an art one has to have a knack for. One of his most effective teaching techniques is breaking down complex ideas to their simple components so attendees can understand the concept and believe that they can achieve the same results.

Michael Radu, DDS, MS has a restorative and aesthetic oriented private practice in Boca Raton, Florida since 1992 and is an adjunct professor in the restorative department at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine since 1999.

He lectures nationally and internationally on aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry, with emphasis on treatment planning, implants, occlusion, the temporo-mandibular-joint and digital dentistry. He has lectured for groups ranging from dental societies and study clubs to Fortune 500 companies and dental industry manufacturers.

Dr. Radu had the privilege of being a student of the founders of modern dentistry, and is now an instructor and mentor to a new generation of dentists.
