Dr. Frank Zimmerling graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Wuerzburg, Germany, in 1998. Between 1999 and 2002 he was an assistant in the Department of Prosthetics at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Bern. In 2003, the doctor obtained a doctorate in medical science. In 2010 he started collaborating with Ivoclar Vivadent, at first being an international lecturer and trainer of the International Center for Dental Education, then a global manager, so that now he is a senior global manager.
During the MAS congress, Dr. Zimmerling will address the subject of digitalization of dentistry, even in terms of mobilizable prostheses. The manufacture of fixed prosthetic works through the CAD / CAM system is today a widespread procedure in dental offices and dental laboratories. But in recent years, the focus has been on making removable dentures. On the dental technology side, software development and finding the right materials is already at an advanced stage. On the clinical side, however, not all steps can be digitized accurately and economically directly on the patient. Thus, a system is needed that combines the well-known conventional processes of the clinical part with the new possibilities and technologies in a reasonable way. In this presentation, Dr. Frank Zimmerling will present such a system, demonstrating its applicability in the manufacturing process of mobilizable prostheses.
