1st Molars play a very important role in proper functioning of the oral cavity, yet they are also among the first teeth to be lost due to tooth decay. In fortunate cases, when we identify dental caries before it has destroyed teeth integrity, we have a chance to restore it perfectly. Most of the time, however, and for various reasons, the morphology was lost. Consequently it’s in our side to restore it.
Direct restoration with composite resins is of choice, and the challenge of correct restoration can be easily overcome when we know thoroughly the tooth morphology, the restorative protocol and simple layering techniques.
During this workshop we will review the morphology of the upper 1st Molar, the composite resins that provide strength in the posterior area and we will practice direct restorative procedures for both clinical situations.
