Our deepening digital society comes with it an increasing risk of cybercrime. While digital tools are providing greater convenience, efficiency, as well as individual and organizational reach, criminals are finding innovative avenues to steal money, personal information, and intellectual property. In this presentation, Corey helps attendees peer into the future to examine how cybercrime will evolve. This will include the use of manipulated audio and video, such as deepfakes, to create cyberattacks and hyper-focused spearphishing campaigns that will become progressively difficult to decipher. This combined with greater access to personal information about an individual as well as our increasing reliance on digital mediums for connection and intimacy will, in some ways, create a perfect storm for cyber criminals to exploit.
