The sixth instalment of the premier annual environmental markets conference is coming back with a virtuoso virtual line-up, examining what the onset of the Paris Agreement era means for global climate ambition and how fast-rising carbon prices are becoming the key global commodity to watch.

Carbon Forward 2021 is organised by event partners Carbon Pulse and Redshaw Advisors. The conference remains Europe’s largest gathering of experts dedicated to environmental markets, again this year we are planning for you to be able to attend from the comfort of your desk on Oct. 06-07.

The event is the key occasion this year to get the best insights on climate legislation, emissions targets, and corporate climate action. We aim to ensure delegates gain a clear understanding of developments to take advantage of the emerging opportunities in these markets and be able to effectively navigate this fragmented space.

Conference day 1 - dedicated to the world’s largest carbon market, the EU ETS. It covers everything you need to know about how to survive and thrive under Europe’s flagship climate action programme, including examining the European Commission’s ‘Fit for 55’ package, latest analysts’ price forecasts, and prospects for the EU’s carbon border mechanism.

Topics will include:

  • EU ETS reform prospects: higher ambition, new sectors
  • Trading strategies: managing carbon risk
  • How to access low-carbon funding
  • Carbon analyst showdown: the return of our annual forecaster head-to-head
  • Brexit-busting: navigating the UK ETS and prospects for linking

Conference day 2 - focuses on how investors and companies are progressing with net zero emissions goals. We gather leading names in finance, industry, and low-carbon project development to discuss the explosive growth in international carbon markets and how buyers can future-proof investment portfolios.

Topics will include:

  • Voluntary carbon market prices, projects, and purchases
  • Core carbon principles: offset taskforces, exchanges, commoditisation
  • Net zero best practice: credible corporate climate strategies
  • Glasgow calling: prospects for COP26 and Article 6 carbon market negotiations
  • Border measures: global carbon pricing in the Paris Agreement era
  • Reductions and removals: charting a course to net zero
