ASUR invites you to a discussion on STEM education and future jobs, alongside Alexandra Voinea (researcher at the Institute of Biochemistry), Silvia Batorii (team leader in Codette) and Anca Bontaș (biology teacher and VP ASUR).
Together we will address topics such as virtual reality and its uses in education and health, building robots in Romania, and we will talk especially about the many aspects and implications of STEM education. This event is free, subject to availability.
Alexandra Voinea is a PHD candidate at University Politehnica of Bucharest and her thesis is based on the usage of Virtual Reality in Learning and Healthcare. Recently she became a Researcher at Institute of Biochemistry of the Romanian Academy and previously she was a Technical Director at Electronics Arts.
Silvia Batorii is an engineer and trainer, passionate about technology, education and space exploration. In the last five years she has taught robotics, science and technology and has developed educational STEM modules for children aged 7-18 years. Now she is a volunteer and team leader in Codette, a community of girls and women passionate about technology.
Anca Bontaș is a biology teacher, with 10 years of experience. And since 2014 is VP of The Romanian Secular-Humanist Association, an organization in which she coordinates projects dedicated to education and science popularization.
